Lawn care in Washington means two quite different jobs depending on which side of the Cascades you are on.
West of the Cascades the challenge is moisture and shade. East of the Cascades the picture inverts. Hot dry summers mean irrigation is essential rather than optional, and the limiting factor is water rather than drainage. Lawns there face heat stress in summer and dormancy in winter, which is a completely different maintenance rhythm.
