About HomePilot
We exist because finding a contractor you can trust should not take a week of unreturned phone calls.
HomePilot helps Washington homeowners find licensed home service contractors across 30 service categories and 11 regions, with registration, bond and insurance verified before any connection is made.
Why we built this
Every home project starts the same way. Something breaks, or something needs improving, and the homeowner opens a search engine. What comes back is a wall of near-identical listings with no meaningful way to tell one from another.
So they call four. Two never answer. One does not cover their address. One turns out not to do that specific type of work. A week later they are back where they started, except the problem is worse.
Underneath that is a question the homeowner genuinely cannot answer alone: is this contractor properly registered and insured, and would I know if they were not? Washington publishes the answer in a free public register, and almost nobody knows it exists.
What we do about it
We maintain a network of licensed home service professionals across Washington, verify their registration, bond and insurance before connecting anyone, and confirm they genuinely cover the area and do the specific work involved. One request from you, one professional who fits.
Washington only, and deliberately so
We cover one state rather than fifty, because home services are genuinely local. Permit authorities differ by city. Building codes differ. Climate differs so sharply across the Cascades that a roof in Seattle and a roof in Spokane fail in opposite ways.
Generic national guidance is not much use to a homeowner in Puyallup. Washington-specific guidance is, and it is what we publish.
What we publish
Alongside the service itself we write guides on permits, materials, seasonal timing and contractor verification — including how to check any contractor yourself on the L&I register, which is knowledge every Washington homeowner should have whether or not they ever use us.
Frequently asked questions
Washington State only, across 11 regions covering roughly 85% of the population. We cover one state deliberately rather than spreading thin across fifty, because permits, codes and climate are genuinely local and generic national guidance is not much use to anyone.
Thirty categories, grouped into core home systems, exterior and structure, interior and renovation, grounds and outdoor, Washington specialties and household services. Coverage depth varies by region.
Two climates in one state. Marine west coast conditions west of the Cascades drive moss, moisture and drainage problems. Continental conditions east drive snow load, ice dams and freeze-thaw damage. Add county-level permit variation and a strong state contractor registration system, and generic advice stops being useful.
